HearMe Launches Give Back Program Providing Free Access to Around-the-Clock Digital Peer Support for National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Louisiana Members

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – HearMe, a national on-demand peer support platform, announces the launch of its Give Back program providing free access to its application for identified organizations and groups. The program will launch with a partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Louisiana to give more than 50 NAMI support group members across the state access to around-the-clock digital peer support, safely and anonymously.

“I started HearMe with the deeply held belief that everyone deserves a safe space to find connection, be heard and feel less alone. That vision remains true today and guides everything we do. We are proud to partner with NAMI Louisiana to support their community and are dedicated to growing our Give Back program to make mental health and wellness support more accessible to everyone.” - Adam Lippin, HearMe Founder & CEO

NAMI Louisiana support group members can now connect to peer listeners for one-on-one text-based emotional support via a mobile app in real time. HearMe listeners are available in the moment of need and serve as a sub-clinical social and emotional support system outside of scheduled support group sessions. Members are matched with a listener based on background and shared lived experiences. All HearMe listeners go through a foundational peer support training program and are provided ongoing training, tools, and resources to best serve members.

“As mental illness continues to affect so many, we are excited to partner with HearMe to continuously help individuals affected by mental health conditions and expand the resources available to those who are seeking support.” - LaShonda Williams, NAMI Louisiana Executive Director

Central to NAMI Louisiana is a commitment to programs that are both peer-driven and family-driven; to the key concepts of recovery, resiliency, and support that are essential to wellness and quality of life; and to full and meaningful lives for all persons. NAMI Louisiana currently offers regional support groups for people living with a mental illness and for family members, partners and friends of individuals living with a mental illness. HearMe is proud to serve as a valuable resource for these members in validating their experiences and emotions, encouraging coping skills, and offering a safe space to be heard.
